The purpose of Christ’s church is the spreading of His Kingdom through the proclamation of the Gospel. Jesus’ Great Commission to His followers was to preach the Gospel to all nations, baptizing them, and making them into disciples. This is what His Kingdom looks like. St. Aidan’s is a community dedicated to Worship, Prayer, and Discipleship for the sake of Jessamine County.
More than one-half of Jessamine county’s 45,000 residents don’t have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Jessamine County doesn’t need another Church. Jessamine County needs a community of believers who are committed to Christ, to His Church, and to His Heart for the lost, the poor, the weak, the sick, and the lonely.
Using St. Aidan’s life and ministry as a model, we see ourselves as a Celtic abbey, a community of believers devoted to each other through prayer and service for the sake of the larger community around us. St. Aidan’s Church is committed to pursuing meaningful relationships with those around us who do not know Christ and to intentional acts of service to the least, the last, and the lost of Jessamine County. We are committed to being a light in the darkness and being an image for those around us to see what life looks like when God is in-charge.
